To The Sister That Gave Me Everything

To my sister,

They say having a sister is like having a best friend for life and that couldn't be truer. However, a sister is more than a best friend. She's the person you go to when you have no one else. She's the person to comfort you when you are feeling alone. She's the words of wisdom when you feel like giving up.

From the endless laughs and heart-to-heart conversations to the stupid fights and letting me cry to you when I need it. You've shown me how to be myself and how to love myself. You've shown me that I have a purpose in this world. You've shown me that you are the only friend I'll ever need and the only friend I'll ever want.

I know sometimes you may feel underappreciated or that I don't value you enough, but I want you to understand that you mean the world to me. You've given me everything that I could ever ask for and more. You've given me well-needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, a friend to laugh with, and clothes from your closet when I can't possibly find anything to wear on my own. You've given me support in my toughest times and in my best, comforting words when I'm broken, and car rides to wherever I needed to go. You've given me the world, and I only hope that one day I'll be able to repay you.

There aren't enough words to express my appreciation and love for you. As my older sister, you continue to surprise me each day. You've accomplished so much in such a short amount of time and have been successful throughout. You've become my role model and the person I look up to. I hope that one day, I can be half the person that you are. Thank for loving me when I can't love myself and crying with me when I need it the most. Thank you for being there when no one else was and for showing me what a best friend is. I value you, as not only a sister but as a person.

When they say having a sister is like having a best friend for life, they couldn't be more right, and you've shown me that my entire life. No matter what happens, we've always got each other and I'm extremely thankful for that. I can't imagine my life without you and I hope I never have to. You're not only my sister but my best friend and I love you with all of my heart. Thank you for just being you.
