Valentine's Day is fast approaching. While everyone is shopping for candy and cards, couples are finalizing their plans, and final touches are being put on those V-Day presents, you are at home contemplating what your plans are and feeling left out of the festivities. Sometimes, you feel you are the only one without a special someone to spend Valentine's Day.

Don't worry darling, there are plenty of other ways you can spend this love-filled day. Valentine's Day may be the most romantic day of the year, but it is also a day to celebrate the love and kindness of those around you. Hey, you can even make Valentine's Day a day of relaxation for yourself.

TREAT YOURSELF. Go to the salon and get your nails done. Do some meditation and yoga. Try something you have never tried before. Go to a restaurant, have a seat, and order your favorite milkshake, and a steakburger with a side of fries (Don't forget to tip your server). If you're at home, grab your blanket and stuffed animal and binge watch Netflix while eating popcorn and drinking a bottle of Cherry Coca-Cola.

Do random acts of kindness. Volunteer at your local nursing home. Go through the drive-thru at Starbucks or any restaurant of your choice and pay for someone's meal. Make Valentine's cards for the troops serving overseas or senior citizens who will be spending Valentine's Day without their family. Better yet, take your parents out to Valentine's Day Dinner and pay for their entire meal. After all, Valentine's Day is all about spreading, receiving, and giving love.

Finally, smile, laugh, cry, hug, kiss, and forgive. Count your blessings, because not many people get to enjoy Valentine's Day with their families, friends, and special someones. Make Valentine's Day a day to remember this year, as well as every year.

One more thing to remember, singles: YOU ARE SPECIAL. Never forget that. You are special in so many ways and our world is lucky to have you. There is someone special out there who is waiting to find and love you and all your specialties that make you unique.

Enjoy your Valentine's Day and all that it has to bring.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
