Weeks, months, or even years ago, you could not wait to be where you are. Today, you cannot wait to be somewhere else. People and situations change regardless of whether we like it or not. Realizing this can happen at any age-grade school, college, or in your fifties. Here are some things to remember when you realize that you're ready for the next page, chapter, or a whole new series.
For some, maturing is inevitable. For others, growing up is impossible.
If you mature faster than your friends (and I mean become more appropriate adult-like -- going to a college party at 15 does not make you more mature), that's okay. You will gain more respect from people who are important than those that act childish like Peter Pan. This does not mean you have to completely cut ties with them, however, it may make it harder for all of you to find an activity that is equally interesting and cause you to drift apart. Despite this, don't give in to doing something you don't want to.
People are going to annoy you. Don't show it.
Whether it's the girl that always talks way too loud, or the boy that wants you when its convenient for him, people are going to get on your nerves. However, acting like the person that is above everyone is as equally bothersome. Smile and bear it, even when you want to make this face:
You are going to have Days where you Feel Alone.
...and it's going to suck...and you're going to want to drown your sorrows in ice cream...and pick out what cats you want on Pinterest.
And then you will have Days where you Enjoy being by Yourself.
There's nothing wrong with a little "me time."
Nonetheless, Don't Push Away whoever your True Friends still are.
Odds are, there's at least one other person that feels the same way you do. Which means, you can get through this together.
And Anyone that Hasn't been a True Friend, and is One of the Reasons you're Over This:
Just accept the fact that there's Bad Blood between you, stand up for yourself when necessary, focus your attention towards you and your squad that really does love you, and move on.
You won't know everyone, or want to necessarily see everyone at a gathering, & somehow it won't bother you too much.
You may also start to wonder how you used to think this scene was so fun a couple years ago.
But Don't let that Stop you from having Fun!
Brush past the people you want to avoid, find the ones you like, and get down while you turn the party up!
With that being said, Don't Dread Everyday you have to be There.
Make the most of every moment. Keep the peace as best you can. Try not to let them know you feel like you are dying on the inside.
Remember the Good Times you've had with the Good People in your life.
Like I said, at one point, you couldn't wait to be here.
More importantly, Look Forward to the Great Times with Great People Ahead.
Don't let your Glory Days be in your past...otherwise, you have nothing to look forward to.
You're almost There.
Take it from someone who knows, trust me:
