Some days it feels like a lot to handle. Sometimes you don’t feel like you deserve to be loved. You feel as if you’ve screwed up one too many times. There is no way God has any use for someone like you, right? Trust me, I understand. The enemy has tried to speak lies in my life too many times and though it’s much easier to see in the place I am in now, I’ve been in your shoes. I know how you’re feeling. He made me believe that my story wasn’t worthy of being shared. That nothing I could do would ever be good enough. I’ll never be like that girl. I can’t do this. I shouldn’t do that. I'm sure sometimes you believe the lies, too.
“Shame says that because I am flawed, I am unacceptable. Grace says that though I am flawed, I am cherished."
God wants better for you than the things you're experiencing now. I think you need to hear this -You are valued. You are important. You are worthy. God loves and cares you. He is right by your side throughout all of your hardest battles. You are never alone. God has bigger plans for you than you're able to see right now. Keep fighting.
If you get nothing else from this article, get this: hurting doesn't last forever and if you open your heart, give it to God, and completely surrender it, your life will never be the same. I promise that God is willing to take your mess and turn it into a message. He often uses our deepest pain as part of our greatest calling.
He knows about all the things you did that you're still holding on to. He knows the reason behind your guarded heart. He still loves you. I pray you find all that you've been looking for in all the right places and forget about all the wrong ones, because He has good things coming your way. I can promise you that.
It's no walk in the park. Healing doesn't happen over night. Sometimes it will still sting, but God wants to take your biggest hurts and turn them into something greater. He comes time and time again and speaks into my heart the things that I need to hear the most. If you give your heartache to Him, He is able and willing to do the same for you.
"God has allowed hard things in your life so you can show the world that your God is great and that knowing Him brings peace and joy, even when times are hard." -Francis Chan, Crazy Love.
