To The One Friend Who Always Listens:
Brandi Wise

No matter the amount of friendships we may have, there is always a single friend who is there to listen. Not that the others don't; just those moments you need to blow off steam for 30 seconds, that one person is the one you text immediately.

The one I'm posting this for, they know who they are. Here's my thank you letter to you, even though there aren't enough words in the world to express how grateful I am:

Dear friend I text at 2:00 AM because I have a random thought that bothers me,

Thank you, first off, for being you. I'm incredibly sorry that I have sent sixteen texts in a row about how upset that one boy makes me. I know I have sent those same text messages twenty other times in the past three days, but you continue to give me the best advice. You don't lose your temper with me, tell me I'm "stupid for holding on", or that I need to talk about something else. No, you tell me how much you want the best things in life for me, and that you hope things work out the way I want them to. You let me vent whenever I need to, and you always respond. How I got so lucky to have a golden friendship like this, I will never know. Thank you for whenever I want to go eat chips and salsa, you get up and go with me. I wish for nothing but the best things in life for you. You deserve the world. I wish everyone had a "you" in their life. I can't imagine sending thirty different relatable quotes and pictures in a day to anyone but you. Thank you for laughing at my worst jokes, and agreeing with the pictures I send you, even though you may not find them funny at all. I'm so glad you tell me I'm pretty, because I forget to pick myself up sometimes. You're there to catch me any time I'm falling into a dark patch in life again. I know you have your troubles, too, but you set them all aside whenever I need the help. I am here for you at any hour of the day, because you have your bad days as well. When those bad days come, know that I will tell you all of the great things you tell me. I will always be your sunshine on a rainy day. I won't ever be the one to bring you down even more. I promise that. You are exquisite, and are so special to this world.
