Dear Mom And Dad, Thank You
Courtney Rowedder

Dear Mom and Dad,

There is so much I want to thank you for. I want to first start by saying thank you for being two of my very best friends. You are there for me at any time of the day or night when I need you, even when I'm 120 miles away. Also, thank you for being my best friend when I'm sad, mad, bratty, happy, excited; always. Thank you for being people I can rant to and being the first ones to congratulate me when I do well in school. Thank you for being my biggest support team, even when I told you I want to switch my major. Thank you for bringing comfort to me when I'm home sick.

Mom, thank you for answering your phone (most of the time) when I call you. Thank you for always being there for me when I don't feel good, even while I'm away at school. Thank you for being my girl best friend. Thank you for spending countless hours going back to school shopping with me. Thank you for having home cooked meals when I come home from school. Thank you for putting up with me when I'm bratty to you. I cannot thank you enough for that. Thank you for all the memories I will forever cherish as mother-daughter moments.

Dad, thank you for being the father who allows me to try new things, like dove hunting for the first time. Thank you for always saying "yes" when I ask to go to Cabela's. Thank you for being adventurous with me (like going 105 mph in your Camaro). Thank you for being my softball coach, I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you for being my biggest protector.

To both of you, thank you for even the simplest of things, like learning to teach me how to ride a bike or use a spoon for the first time. Thank you for teaching me to drive for the first time. Thank you for trusting me to make the right decisions and thank you for the freedom you continue to give me. Thank you for all the countless things you have given me or bought me, you name it.

Thank you for always putting my needs before yours. Thank you for all the late hours you've spent finishing my laundry the night before school that I forgot to put in the dryer. Thank you for always giving me a place to live, always making sure I had clean clothes and for putting food on the table. Thank you for making me feel welcomed every time I come home from college. You guys are definitely the best parents I could ever ask for.

Mom and Dad, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for me. I would definitely not be where I am today without you both. Most recently, I want to thank you for raising Avianna, she is the brightest joy. Now more than ever, being away at school, I realize that I just want to be younger again. For all the hard times I have given you, and will probably give you in the future, just know I do realize you're only doing what is in my best interest. I love you guys more than I will ever be able to express and here's another thank you or two for something you'll probably do for me later today.

Love Always,

Court

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
