To The Girls Who Rely Solely On Their Boyfriends

He deserves to be treated, too.

He is not there to wait on you hand and foot, so don’t take him for granted because, believe it or not, he will realize it one day and you just might end up single. Boyfriends are there to love you, comfort you, and be someone you can connect with a talk to. He’s not just a man with a wallet, and he can’t spend all his money on you; the poor guy will go broke.

A true gentleman will take his girlfriend out and not expect her to pay for anything; in the eyes of a true gentleman you should never make a girl pay for anything. Some girls are perfectly fine with this. But for me, I do feel bad sometimes; going out every weekend to eat or to the movies and sometimes bowling can add up. He doesn’t complain about the money or that we go out too much, he’s just happy to be spending time with me and know that I am happy. He never asks for money or looks at me and says “Can you pay this time?” Even when I do ask to pay, he refuses. I have never been treated this way before so it was a shock at first.

Men will do anything women want to do; women always get to pick where you go to eat, what movie to see, and what you do almost every weekend. Well, don’t you ever think sometimes that men want to do something other than eat out all the time and listen to all the drama that you have to talk about and what you did all day besides go to work and school?

Well, that’s when you girls need to take some action and show him that he’s not just there to take you out and treat you, but that you are also there for him and he deserves a night out as well. And I don’t mean a guy’s night out with friends; I mean a night out just for him and you and you treat him for date night. As long as you tell him it’s his weekend and you want to treat him, he will let you; he won’t tell you no or that you can’t because you can’t pay because he knows it’s something you want to do and it’s just for him.

It is not the material things in life that count. Dinner can’t show him how much you love him, a hotel can’t show him that you can spend a lot of money because you can, tickets to a museum don’t say, “I appreciate everything you do," and taking him to the top of the Empire State building and buying his favorite chocolate covered strawberries can’t show him a you know how to have a good time. It's more the fact that you took the time out of your day to make sure he has an amazing weekend between booking dinner, the hotel, ordering the tickets, and making sure the strawberries are perfect. Sometimes it’s not always the big things in life but it’s the smaller things like knowing what he likes and making sure everything is perfect.

So don’t ever take him for granted, he will always be there for you. But he does deserve to be shown some appreciation and deserves to be treated to a weekend just for him and what he wants to do. So don’t rely on him for everything and show him that you are more than just the girl that wants to be wined and dined. Be the girl that doesn’t take him for granted and the girl he will love for years to come.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
