The boy who made you feel unloved.

You loved him with everything. He was the sun in your sky, he put the stars in the galaxy. Your heart beat for him.

You were a cloud in his sky. He wanted you when he needed shade, but preferred the blue skies.

In the start, everything was good. You were happy. You would have done anything for him, and, you did. Anything to keep him happy, you told yourself. Anything to keep him here.

He left you, and the sun left the sky. Your life was dark days and darker nights until one day you started to build light bulbs and start fires until they lit your sky.

As the flames flickered, the sun peeked over the horizon. Impressed by your light, he filled your sky once again. Day after day, you fought to keep the bulbs and fires lit, silently praying for him to stay in your sky, stay, stay, stay in your sky, and he did, for a while.

You wake up one day, and he was gone. You rushed to lite your bulbs and start your fires. For days on end they burned bright, filling the sky with the colors of your hopes and dreams.

You grew tired of rushing to keep everything burning, so you vow that when the last fire burns out and the last bulb dies, you'd never light another, never again.

As the last fire flickered, he once again peeked over the horizon, and your vow was gone.

You fed the flames, changed your bulbs. It drained you day by day, minute by minute, but you didn't know anything else, you only knew how to love him, and event though he didn't love you, the only love you knew was his false love.

You would do anything to keep him, even if it meant leaving behind your comforts. Anything to make it feel like he was yours, but he left you again.

No.

Get up. Brush the dirt from your knees. Turn off the lights, put out your fires.

Look up. You are a sun. You are the source of light in your own sky, You are beautiful. You are important. You are loved by more than just him.

Shine your own light. Follow your own path. The darkness is when the stars shine the brightest.

He needs you, you don't need him.

I promise you, darling. It is better to be loved by many than unloved by one.

You are a forest, thick canopies of trees and sweet scented wild flowers sprouting at the roots. You will grow back over and over no matter how many times you are destroyed. You are dark, lovely and deep.

Yes, boys will come to cut down your trees and pick your wild flowers. It can't be helped.

One day a boy will come who won't cut down trees or pick flowers.

He'll stop to smell them. He'll take pictures, climb trees, and fall asleep in the secret meadow you call your heart, and everything will be right.

Don't let a boy control who you are and what you will be. Don't change yourself or your views and morals. Don't let them mold you to please themselves.

You are a god damn Queen.

You are perfect the way you are and nothing and no one can change that.

Don't be afraid to lose him because if he didn't want to lose you he wouldn't force you. You are not a toy with a crank that he can wind when he wants. You are a living, breathing, functioning human fucking being. Don't let him treat you like trash and make you feel worthless and unloved and unwanted.

Be strong, beautiful. Shove him out of your stunning forest. You're perfect as you are, you don't have to change a thing.

You aren't alone. I'm here. You might have been alone then, but I promise you while I am on this planet nobody will ever be alone again. I will never leave you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
