So you got the dreaded text message again. You know, the one that's underlying message says, "You're just not what I want in a relationship." You're heartbroken, disappointed, and feel like maybe you aren't "good enough" for him. "Why does this always happen to me?", you ask yourself, " God, why can't he just care about me for once?" You've been hurt time and time again, and each time hurts worse than the one before. You're done with guys.
But then another one comes along. He's sweet, handsome, and says "you're the one." You think it's going great, but then he breaks your heart too. You start to question whether you're good enough for anyone, and don't know what you'll do if you can't find someone who will love you for you.
But ladies...
Your worth is not found in a guy.
Your worth is not found in what you look like.
Your worth is not found in what clothes you wear, how much money you have, or how much makeup you use.
Your worth is found in Jesus Christ. You are "good enough" to be worth what he paid for you while he was hanging on the cross in pure agony and torture. God created each person in His image, and as a human made in the image of God, that's worth more than anything on earth. However, humans were made to worship, and once we discovered that we could in fact worship ourselves, a sinful nature was born and that seed spread throughout all of humanity. So, our worth began to be established in what possessions we owned, what people we had relationships with, what we looked like, and the world in which we live in grew cold and dark.
But God, knowing that only a perfect, blameless sacrifice could pay the price of our sin, sent His son, Jesus, who was fully God and fully man, to die in our place. Eternity with God was restored, and that is what your worth is found in.
Now, don't get me wrong, Jesus died in place of EVERYONE, of course. But this post is directed specifically at the ladies who have been hurt because of a situation that resulted in them thinking they aren't "good enough." Guys, it relates to you too, right? You've been there, I know, at one time in your life.
But remember, your life is worth what Jesus Christ paid for at the cross. Nothing on earth can remove that worth if you are a follower of him, and nothing can separate your eternal being with God, because of what happened about 2,000 years ago, when Jesus was sacrificed to identify our worth with his.
You are "good enough" for the savior of the world to die for, and that trumps anybody's interpretation of your worth.
