To the girls out there who know exactly what they want: do not settle.
Do not settle because in the end, you will only hurt yourself. A good friend of mine recently told me, “do you want God's good now, or God's best later?” Be patient in the process and know that what is meant for you will always find its way if you stay true to what you want and never settle for anything less. Please know that something worth your time will come your way. There will be times where life doesn’t make sense, but trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Everything happens for a reason and knowing this will make life a lot more enjoyable.
You should never have to apologize for being too passionate about what you want. Good for you. Good for you that you know exactly what you want from this life and are determined to get just that. Don’t be fooled by temporary satisfactions and keep your eye peeled on the satisfactions that will last a lifetime. You will thank yourself later. When you choose not to settle, you will be rewarded with a sense of confidence and happiness. This is because not settling consists of setting standards for yourself. Standards for what you will and will not accept into your life. It means that you have enough self-love to know what you deserve. Once you set your own standards and have your own back, you will attract the right kinds of people and situations into your life. You will hold yourself to such a high standard that when you walk into a room, you command it. You command it because you are so sure of who you are, what you deserve and want that it pours out of you and into everyone else.
Remember that what is meant for you will never miss you. Don’t ever think for one second that what you are wanting is unattainable, it is out there. From jobs, to friends, to boys, just don’t settle. Nothing that is meant for you will ever make you feel as though you are asking for too much. Don’t feel ashamed for knowing things many people don’t even know for themselves. And don’t feel ashamed when that intimidates people. There are too many extraordinary things out there for you to feel as though you have to settle for something that is not worth your time.
Your heart's desires are there for a reason, chase them and pursue them relentlessly. Keep doing you, stay focused on what you want and I promise it will come your way.
