You keep seeing all of your friends getting engaged, or married, and although you're happy for them, you can't help but feel a hint of jealousy. You're sitting there thinking to yourself, "why hasn't that happened for me yet?". This one's for you.
I see you when you're congratulating your friends on their engagement and you have that moment where you wish that you were the one being celebrated. I see you when you're on your couch watching that couple on TV plan their wedding and how you look at that beautiful bride living out the wedding of her dreams. How do I know? Because I've been where you are, Hell I'm still there. Am I engaged now? Lord no, but I've taken a new perspective, and maybe you will too. Maybe the proposal is taking too long for your liking, but I can assure you that God has a greater plan. Maybe you still have things to learn before you make the commitment to be married, or maybe it's just not the right time. Maybe you're supposed to get through college first, so that you're not juggling a marriage (or planning one) while you get your education. It could be that financially, you're not ready. Whatever the reason may be, trust in the Lord and know that everything happens according to His plan. When the time is right, it will happen. Have faith and enjoy the relationship that you have. Don't spend your time obsessing over being married so much so that your relationship begins to suffer because of it. It will happen for you, but only when the time is right, and when God knows you're ready. So for now, you can look at all of the gorgeous engagement rings and the beautiful wedding themes if you want, but don't forget to enjoy what you have sitting right there in front of you.
