Living with people is very hard, however when you live with people that are your best friends, you look forward to coming home and vent about your day. I believe roommates have a different type of friendship bond because you see each other morning and night, hear about each others problems, and learn about each others quirks. Whether it's one or three roommates; they always have an impact on your life. You share more than food and late night bonding sessions, you form memories and history together that will stay with you always. Here are a few things you do if you have a BFF roomie:
1. Share tampons.
2. Make each other food.
3. Take care of each other when you're sick.
4. Get in fights then die laughing four minutes later.
5. Share each other’s clothes.
6. Have dance parties pre-pre-game.
7. Cry over stupid things aka life, adulthood, school, your credit card bill.
8. Endless cuddles.
9. Binge watch TV shows on Netflix.
10. Share Netflix and Hulu accounts.
11. Ask if certain things are normal on your bodies.
12. Drink wine at 3 a.m. even though you guys have an 8 a.m.
13. Always have someone to go to lunch with.
14. Hate the same people.
15. Make each other dinner.
16. Always text each other to make sure they are okay after a night out.
17. Have a constant workout buddy.
18. Share cleaning duties aka hating when getting the bathroom.
19. Study for midterms and finals and ask yourselves why you even went to college.
20. Love each other’s other best friends.
21. Include each other on drunk food bulk orders.
22. Mother daughter dinners with an occasional blackout.
23. Trust each other no matter what the situation is.
24. Know they will always be in your life after you all eventually move out.
So to all the best friend roommates out there, appreciate your people. Their kind hearts and listening ears will not always be there. To my best friend roommates, Rachel and Brooke, thank you for giving me two of my best college years so far. I could not imagine living with other people who tolerate my ADD and shopping addiction.
From living in the dorms freshman year and living with Brooke being a constant hypocrite and Rachel being the worst influence on my spending money. Our memories will continue to grow in the cutest apartment we have, where we now house a dog (lol) and cat.
We have been together through some of the biggest milestones of our lives. The amount of times we have all decided to drop out and work in an escort service or start our own company is unreal. Our cuddles sessions and contemplation of Rachel’s bridesmaids dresses (because we all know she’s getting married first) never fail to entertain me.
Even though you guys know I never listen, I love the fact that you still yell about me for my frequent post-mating (my dad appreciates you guys for that lmao) Wherever the road takes us, I know we will be there for each other always. I appreciate you guys as my best friends and roommates and blessed to share some of the biggest milestones with you guys.
