Everyone has always been told go to school, get good grades, and then after you do all that go to college and get even better grades. No one ever told us how hard it would be to be so focused on just school. Truth is, some of us are working more than one job like me for example.
Some of us are also doing volunteer work or even extracurricular activities. Some of us may even be dealing with a whole bunch of family problems. There are also those people who have a great big smile for everyone to see but behind closed doors their world is upside down, left side up, and tossed into one big ball of hot mess.
School is not easy, however, we all know that if the best things in life were easy then we all would not know what it feels like to truly work hard for something. Going into college I thought it would be the best thing that ever happened to me, I finally had the opportunity to become the independent woman I’ve always wanted to become.
College is the best thing that has happened to me, I’ve learned how to study the morning of an ace it, I’ve stressed about class so much that I just decided a nap would cure all my problems, I’ve laid outside in the freezing cold pretending to be the couple from the notebook with my best friend, I’ve dealt with grieving a loved one, I’ve dealt with heartbreak and so much more.
I know how hard it is to stay motivated, I know how hard it is to want so much yet do so little. My friend this is only a little speed bump in your life, one of many. Just take a deep breath, maybe even a quick nap, but after that put your life into full gear because you are in complete control of it.
This is your life, make the best of every moment. Yes, there may be times where you feel like dropping out of school and becoming a stripper is the best option but unfortunately, not all of us know how to dance so back to plan A. It’s okay to be stressed, it’s okay to experience a whole lot of emotions at once, that’s all a part of growing up.
Things will get better. When you become that very successful person you’ve always wanted to be you’ll look back at everything that you have experienced and you’ll realize it made you a better person. High school could never teach us how to handle any of these situations, we all must go through them to become a very wise intellectual.
We learn who are true friends are, we learn how to become motivated/stay motivated, we learn how to save money (well eventually), and finally after all our misfortune’s we learn who we want to become. We’ve all been lost, we’ve all broken down, we’ve all felt insane, and however, in the end, we’ve all managed to find a way to get back up and kick some major ass.
