To My Roommate, My Best Friend, And My Person

Thank you for standing by my side when times get hard; Thank you for making me laugh when I didn't even want to smile.

To My Roommate, My Best Friend, And My Person

Hey you, you are pretty amazing. Who knew that my roommate would end up being my best friend and my person? You have really been my rock this semester, and this whole year, and I don't know if I could have made it without you... Okay, I COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT WITHOUT YOU.

You are my best friend.

We are so opposite, but we are basically the same. I keep you calm and collected, and you keep me entertained 24/7. You don't judge me for wanting ice cream at 11 o'clock at night, because more than likely, you want some, too. You are always honest with me, especially when it comes to finding something to wear. Oh yeah, we can't forget about the dance parties! NO JUDGE ZONE HERE. We dance our little hearts out together! Why? Because every once in while you need someone to be crazy with and let loose with, and you are that person for me. We always take a million pictures, and want people to think of us as "BFF GOALS." But hey, we are "GOALS." And always remember — It doesn't matter who likes us, WE like us! That's why you are my best friend!

You are my person.

What does it mean when someone is your "person?" Well, let me explain. My person is you. You are the one that I go to when I find out juicy gossip. You are the person I pour my feelings out to, while at the same time you listen and don't judge me. You are the person I go everywhere with, whether its shopping, out to eat, or on adventures. You are by my side. You are the person I see helping me get into my wedding dress, and being by my side on that big day. You are the person that will grow old with me and when we are in the nursing home — you will cause trouble and I'll have to back you up and keep you straight. You will always be my person.

You are my rock.

You are the person who keeps me grounded in times that I just wanna give up or go crazy. Especially during finals, or just when I don't wanna be at college, you keep me sane. You understand my weird ways and my quirks. You accept my flaws and imperfections. You make sure I do not fail, and you always lift me up when I'm feeling down. What I love most about you is that you are a planner. You plan all of our "events" and adventures, and if it wasn't for you, we would never have cool plans, and we would probably be late. That's why you are my rock and I need you!

We have memories that will last a lifetime!

We have so many memories that I will hold onto forever. I am so glad that I get to do life with you! We always go to beautiful places, and you always introduce me to new food (which I love the most). I will never forget the memories that were made in our room. From the dance parties, to making it just in time for curfew, or just late night talks about life and being silly together — thank you for all the amazing memories!

Roommates or not, you will always be in my heart.

I know we won't be roommates forever, but that's okay. Like I said, you will be my bridesmaid, and we will be in the nursing home together doing some of our old shenanigans. We will never lose touch because we are so close. You are basically my un-biological sister — I don't think our parents could have handled us as blood sisters! No matter what, I am here for you. I may be in another city, state or even country, but if you call me, I'll be there ASAP. You have a special place in my heart!

"That's when I realized what a true friend was. Someone who would always love you — the imperfect you, the confused you, the wrong you — because that is what people are supposed to do." - R.J.L.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
