Dear Roomies

Dear Roomies,

As we enter our second semester of Junior year, I reflect back on all the great memories we have had together. I can't believe everything we've been through and all the fun times we have had. I'm writing this letter to thank you for all the memories, and more importantly, the friendships we have created.

The first day we moved in together, I wondered what it would be like living with my closest friends. Everyone always says its difficult to live with your best friends because it could ruin your friendship. After this year, I would disagree. Living with you guys has made our relationship stronger than ever. Of course, we have had our share of problems, but overcoming those has brought us closer together. There have been many times where I needed my space, but I wouldn't be any to be surrounded by anyone else at the end of the day.

I want to take this time to say thank you for everything. Thank you for supporting me, even when you didn't agree with what I was doing. Thank you for listening to me, even though you heard the same thing three times before. Thank you for all the advice, especially when you knew I probably wasn't going to follow it. You have all been there for me in many different ways, and I don't know what I would do without you.

Most importantly, thank you for being such great roommates. I know I may not always be the easiest person to live with, but we have somehow made it fun to be together. There is nothing better than knowing you have your best friends by your side at all times of the day. Whether it is 11 a.m. stressing about a test, or 1 a.m. crying about a boy, you guys have always been there to listen and make me laugh, even at times I didn't think possible.

Living together has bonded us more tightly than anyone could imagine. Even leaving for breaks is difficult with us all living in different towns and states. We may text or call, or even meet up over break, but it is so hard to be so far away from each other. We get so used to being around each other that even a weekend a part feels strange. I can't imagine what it will be like when we graduate. We may all go our separate ways, but I do not think the distance will ever get in the way of our relationship.

I want to thank you each for being the best friends I could ever ask for. While moving into a new place away from home can be incredibly hard, each of you made it a great experience. We have come so far and I can't wait to see where our future takes us. Thanks for always supporting me and for all the fantastic memories we have created.

Love,

Your Roomie

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
