Dear Past Me,
You've come a long way since then. Before you were awkward, shy and didn't really know what you wanted. You were just trying to fit in and that's fine, but just remember to never change who you are or what you want just because that's what everybody else wants. Be who you want to be and if someone doesn't like it, well too bad for them because they just lost a great friend. You don't have to always like what your friends like and vice versa, don't forget that you can say no if you want to.
Don't worry or stress over something that you can't change. You're still working on this, but you've learned so much and have overcome so much that it's becoming easier and easier to stress less. Along with this comes understanding why you stress so much and it's okay to not be okay. When you need to vent, do it; when you need to talk, do it; when you just need to be alone, be alone. This has taken you a while to understand, but that's okay too.
Always find something to be passionate about. I know it's hard to do this when you're still confused on what you want, but that's what makes learning fun. Your friends may not understand and you may not understand, but if you like it, don't be afraid to go out and do it. Take risks. Be who you want to be, and if that's being different, then be different. Don't let anyone stop you from trying to be happy, because in the end it's you who is there for you. No one else but you.
It's okay to not be friends with everybody. Yes, I know you like to please others, but don't let them walk over you. Stand your ground and make sure you voice your opinion on what you want. They will still like you even if you disagree with them every now and again. And don't try to please everyone because that won't make you any more happier. It's okay to put yourself first and everybody else second every once in a while.
Remember that every choice you've made has made you so much stronger and has brought you to this point. Even though you may be confused or unsure or even worried about making the wrong choice, know that you've made mistakes, but those mistakes have made you learn. It's okay to be indecisive because that's who you are, but know that sometimes you just have to know when to decide for yourself, because it's up to you ultimately.
This has been a journey that you've been chosen to take, and you wouldn't be in it if God didn't think you could do it. So don't worry or stress because everything does eventually work out. And when things don't work out, it's for the better. Those are the learning moments that you have finally figured out in life. Oh, and deciding to wear contacts may have been the best decision you have made so far in life. Keep on trucking through because it may suck now, but it'll all be worth it in the end.
Sincerely,
Present Me
