Parents don't get enough credit. From the moment we're born we depend on our moms and dads for everything. First for life, but then soon for rides to soccer practice, clothes for school and cupcakes for school birthday parties. Our parents do all of this just because. No, they don't have to, they want to. They do it because they love us. But after 18 years of doing everything possible for us, we leave. We go off into the world to fend for ourselves for the first time in our lives. And let's face it, if it weren't for our parents we probably wouldn't even have made it through our college orientation. So here's a much deserved thank you to our parents, because they do more for us than we'll ever know.
Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you for always listening to. Whether I just failed a test or got my dream job I'm going to pick up the phone and call you in the middle of the day and you never fail to answer.
Thank you for always supporting me. No matter what I end up doing I know you'll always have my back and my best interests in mind.
Thank you for always believing in me more than I believe in myself sometimes. Thankfully for me, you guys are usually right.
Thank you for teaching me right from wrong. Sometimes being on your own is tricky and you can't always be with me to tell me what I should and shouldn't do. Luckily I always have your lessons in the back of mind when I'm struggling with what to do.
Thank you for letting me be independent. While I know it may not be easy to have your kids move away from you and lead their own busy, independent lives. You have never once held me back from my dreams or complained if I am ever too busy to call.
Thank you for being my role models. Growing up with two strong hardworking parents has helped me develop my sense of work ethic and strive to be as successful as the two of you.
Thank you for making me who I am today. You have both taught me what it means to be a smart, independent and successful person. I know that if it weren't for the two of you I wouldn't be who I am today following my dreams. Thank you for the opportunities, lessons, and unconditional love. I love you to the moon and back.
Love,
Your Daughter
