Dear other half,
Let me start off by saying I'm sorry for how sappy I'm about to get with you.
I can't say thank you enough for everything you've done for me. I can get a little crazy as we all can and I'm so thankful for you calming that part of me down. I only met you a handful of years ago but those looking in from the outside would never be able to guess. I have had some amazing friendships in the past but ours is so much more. You welcomed me into your family without hesitation as I welcomed you into mine. It became obvious very quickly that this friendship was going to be one to last. Thank you for being by my side as we walked across the stage in high school and began our last summer together before the real world started. That's when it all got real. We were going from driving to and from school together everyday and spending every weekend we could together to having to carve time out of our schedules. We're lucky, our friendship isn't stretched over a large distance like many others we know but it may as well have been. There are many days that I find myself upset for no reason other than missing you and our lazy days.
Thank you for still finding time to see me. Thank you for being just a phone call away and answering no matter what time it was or what you have going on. I'm lucky to be able to call you and endlessly complain about things I'm being over dramatic about. Thank you for not being afraid to tell me what I need to hear not just what I want to hear. I'm always going to value the long car rides we took resulting in us getting lost. Nothing will top the days we spent frying at the beach only to go back a few days later and do it again.
As we begin our second year apart I want you to know how much I miss you. I miss how things use to be but I'm looking forward to all the fun that's to come! You are always going to be a part of my family no matter how long we go without seeing each other. As the time goes on who knows where we'll end up but no matter what I'll always be proud of you and everything you already have and are going to accomplish. You are more than just my best friend, you're family, my other half and most importantly my person.
