To My Mother, Thank You
Gabrielle Lamberti

Dear Mom,

There are not enough words that can even describe how I feel about you.

I thank God every day for blessing me with you. I could not have asked for a better mother, friend and person in my life, and some days I even question how I got so lucky to have you. You continuously amaze me in all that you do and I truly admire your love, faith and dedication. The boys and I are honored to have you as our mother and we cannot stress our appreciation enough.

I can only hope that someday I can be half the woman you are and be that perfect mother to my children, the same way you are to me. You have taught me so much about life and how to get through it; about love and how to forgive. You even taught me how to dress like an actual girl when all I used to were sweatpants and baggy t-shirts, thanks to the big brothers. But most importantly, you taught me what it is like to love myself and to love God and for that, I will forever be grateful.

You inspire me every day to be a better woman and you continuously teach me how to better myself. You are so supportive in all that I do and I am so thankful for the times where you still have supported me despite whether you agree with my decisions or not. Each day that passes you inspire me and remind me of the kind of person I want to be. Your friendship, wisdom and love make such a difference in my life and I can only hope that my children will look at me the same way that I still look at you. Mom, you are my rock and you are the most beautiful person, both inside and out. I cannot stress enough how blessed I am to be your daughter and your friend.

This is my thank you to you; for all the things you've done, you do, and you will continue to do for me. Thank you. I would be nothing if it wasn't for you. Just know that everything I do is for you and I can only hope that I make you proud, considering how proud I am of you. You amaze me every day and I can't ever imagine a life without you here. You truly are the strongest woman I know. You've encountered some of the toughest hardships and never once let them define you. If anything, you came out to be a stronger person and I commend you for that. Despite our fights, never forget that I love you, Mom.

Here's to many more laughs and smiles and taking down dad and the boys by showing them who's boss!

I love you today, every day, and always.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
