You can take your guess if I am writing this to you, but chances are you should know if this is about you by the end. Thank you for the past year, for just being there. I came into your life at a time when I was afraid, angry, and extremely alone, yet you never blocked me out.

Thank you for letting me ask every ridiculous and random question that popped up in my mind, because you always were able to give me an answer. So much of who I am as an employee, student, and person is reflected in what you have taught me. I have no doubt God placed you in my life for specific reasons.

I am so grateful that you reminded me how messy life is, but how we keep moving on and just laughing at the stress we know we are about to endure. You've taught me how to be an optimistic pessimist. Your presence in my daily life has shown me what sort of treasures can come from rough situations.

I cannot say thank you enough from challenging me from day one. You showed me how to push my limits and go out of my comfort zone to reach my desired outcome. Awkward and uncomfortable situations now seem normal and easy to navigate.

Thank you for being an example of a hard worker and spurring me on to put my best work out there. I have learned from you that even the most trivial and boring tasks can benefit in the long run. No matter how messy the journey to get to your end goal, you remind me that it is all worth it when you achieve what you set out to do.

It was really hard for me to have to say goodbye to you for the time being while I am on my next adventure, but I am thankful to know I will always have you there. I hope I do you proud, and remember, I ALWAYS want you as part of my life, so keep me updated on all the things that happen with you this next year.

Thank you for all you have taught me. I take your words of wisdom with me. I won't forget how to tie the bow, I promise, because that is the best part of the gift.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
