Do you remember how we met? Yeah who would have ever thought one simple iMessage game of pool would allow me to meet someone who would impact my life so much. At most I would have only imagined us as not even really friends, just acquaintances. But now I can't picture life without you, and don't want to.
From your rap lyrics that I had no idea as to what you were even saying, to our endless country music lyric exchanges that turned to our new playlist. Rule number 7. Do you remember that? Ice cream. If we sparked an argument or one of us was mad at the other, ice cream always fixed it. Not to mention that I can never be mad at you for more than 10 minutes because you always find a way to make me smile and forget why I was mad. Especially the eye roll wink that I still can't quite do right but you tell me I did it anyway because I hate not being able to do things. We haven't had many adventures but the best are yet to come. My first duck hunting trip (I better not be freezing and sleep deprived for no reason) and killing a gadwall, to our spontaneous beach trips, concerts, fishing (mainly me catching more fish than you) on a bass tracker, and snowy mountain trip. I can't wait for all of the unforgettable memories we're about to make.
You know me better than I know my own self. You know when something is wrong. You know my favorite food from every place- literally. You know all about my past and don't judge me for it. You know how I'll react to certain things. You know when I'm stressing over something whether it be big or little. And you know just the right things to say at the right time. You come drama free. And if I have drama, you're always there to listen. You listen to everything I have to say. When I'm acting irrationally, you're there to set me straight and tell me. You aren't afraid to tell me the truth- even if it may hurt my feelings.
I honestly don't know how you put up with me but you do. I constantly blow up your phone in class whenever I have to tell you something big happened within my day. I'm always complaining about something that's happened too. I cry to you at least once every two weeks- especially if I've had a rough week. Not to mention all my ups and downs, in and outs, and everything in between. How do you do it? When I call you randomly you always answer (most of the time). You think somethings wrong but really I just call to talk and ask you how your day went. I never would have thought you would be the one I turned to with everything in life but, you are. You are the person I turn to when life hits hard or life is way too good. You make everything better.
No one would ever picture us as best friends, but if they knew our relationship, they might (probably not) understand. But seriously, who would have thought? People don't even know we're friends, let alone- best friends. They don't know we literally know everything about each other. But that's okay because even if they don't know, I'm lucky enough to know you and have you as my best friend. You drive me insane sometimes but I wouldn't trade that for the world. All the ridiculous stunts and things you do make me mad because I only want you to be safe and what's best for you, but then I remember you are a boy- and boys do dumb things. But, you never do anything dumb to jeopardize our friendship and for that I'm grateful. This friendship that I never saw coming, or don't even know really how it happened, has impacted my life in such a great, positive way, and now, if you want to be or not (sorry you're stuck with me but) you're one of the most important people in my life and I value you and everything in our friendship so incredibly much.
Hey. Did you know this though? I'm proud of you. I'm thankful for you. You're the best. You deserve the world and everything in it. I always ask you about school, your games, and everything in between only because I truly want to know. I want to know because I know that whatever happens, you will always strive to improve and do better. I hope you know that I will forever support you and your life decisions (unless they involve skim boarding in a hurricane or anything irrational/dumb like that). Wether you believe me or not, I see so much potential in you- because to me you are smart and will be successful. You've taught me so many life lessons no one else has. How to be strong, how to let go, how to forgive, how to hope, and how to be a better version of myself.
I honestly have never had a friendship like this before, and now that I have one, I never want to lose it- or replace it. I will forever be there for you no matter how big or small the problem is, or how late, far, or crazy the situation is. I can't promise you that I will be able to solve them (because you know I'm basically scared of everything and am a little small and weak) but I will promise you that you will never face them alone. So. Thank you for the little surprises, pick me ups, jokes, compliments, laughs, and so much more I can't even finish typing. But most importantly, thank you for being my best friend.
