I’m not going to lie, I have always wanted to get married. The idea of walking down the aisle in my lace backless dress with my closest friends and family members all surrounding me with love and joy is something that I have always envisioned for my future.

So I just wanted to say a couple things to my future husband. I hope that you have gotten everything that you have wanted out of life, not only now when I am writing this letter, but when we meet.

I also hope that your college years (if you went that route) are going well and that your major of choice is something you are very interested in. If college wasn’t in the cards for you that whatever you are doing right now is giving you nothing but the utmost joy.

I can’t wait to meet you, to go on dates, meet the family, and begin starting a life together. I hope you feel the same way, because to be completely honest with you I can’t wait to stand by your side in front of our loved ones and share a most precious moment.

But I mean can you blame me? Like most girls, I’ve planned my dream wedding with my dream guy at least four or five times. Each time I plan it is different than the last, but the one constant thing is you and that already makes my heart swoon.

I don’t want to declare this a love letter so instead I’ll declare it a hope letter. I hope that your life to this point and every point after is filled with joy and nothing but happiness. I hope that you get everything you have ever wanted out of life.

I hope that you’re looking forward for the future as much as me, but still living a great life in the present. I hope that when we do first meet that I can give you all that you are looking for in a wife, not just someone you said “I do” too.

I hope to be your best friend, someone you watch sports with and argue with me that the Steelers are a great football team (I have a feeling you won’t be a fan of them, even though they’re my favorite team). I hope to be someone that you can go hiking and white water rafting with when we visit Colorado, or take a spontaneous trip to somewhere around the world.

I hope to be someone you can go to for anything and I can’t wait to have you be that person for me. I can’t wait to be someone you can goof around with, cook as many food videos as we can in one day together (let’s be honest they will be my unhealthy obsession forever), and someone you can dance around the house to blasting Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, both of us screaming the lyrics at the top of our lungs. While our neighbors might hate us, I’ll know that I made the right choice when it comes to you.

So I hope you’re enjoying the single life now (or maybe you’re in a relationship right now who knows), because sooner or later it’ll be me and you and, of course, our three dogs.
