An Open Letter To My Roommates

I promise to make this the best year of our lives.

An Open Letter To My Roommates

As we get ready to move into our house together this week, I am a sea of emotions and I know you guys are too. I am overjoyed to be getting to experience our first taste of actual semi-adult life with my best friends, but I’m also so scared for what responsibilities I know lie ahead for us. I can’t wait to pretend we’re interior decorators and argue about how much pink two of us may or may not try to fill the house with, but at least we can all agree on some glitter here and there. Not as excited for the bills, though.

This next year is going to be full of laughter, tears, stress and more fun than we can ever imagine. I promise to personally make sure that we have triple the ups than we will downs. When times get tough I promise to talk things out and make sure that we all fall asleep smiling because at the literal end of the day we all love each other unconditionally and that’s all that will ever matter.

When you guys are trying to study, I promise I will distract you guys enough to make sure you’re never working too hard. Also, a huge thank you in advance from myself and my GPA for keeping me on track and making sure I’ll study and do all of my work.

I cannot wait to not brush my own hair after I shower and steal all of your clothes. You guys know mi closet es su closet always as well.

I promise to try and motivate us to go to the gym and I promise even harder that we will eat ice cream after because we deserve it. Actually, we deserve ice cream all the time so expect it whether we go to the gym or not. More than likely not.

I’m already sorry for the amount of times I will be climbing into your beds at night because we all know how bad I am at sleeping alone. But just know my bed will always have room for you guys every single night you need it, too. In addition to sleeping, I’m sorry for all of the nights that I will keep you guys up because I’m an insomniac and get a little weird after 10 p.m.

We are all so diverse, yet so alike in different ways. We all level each other out in the most harmonizing way possible and that’s why I know we are going to be perfectly fine and make the best out of this next year. I love you guys so much and cheers to our upcoming adventures. I cannot wait.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
