An open letter to my favourite manager

Words truly can not describe how much you've impacted my life for the better

An open letter to my favourite manager

I would imagine when the person reading this first saw the title, they assumed this would be a letter filled with something less than positive. Unfortunately, often times, the word “boss” is defined negatively. I am eternally grateful that this isn’t the case for me. So, let this be an open letter to my boss, someone who I can call a friend and a role model.

There are really no words that can fully express how very grateful I am that God or whoever up above brought you into my life. One of the greatest gifts someone can receive in life is a person who is supportive of them unconditionally, celebrates their victories, treats them with such grace and humbleness… Which is all of the characteristics that you inhibit. Not only are you my boss, but you are also one of my biggest supporters and cheerleaders. You are here in my life as a constant reminder that I am above every struggle I go through and worthy to live a great life.

As much as we joke around, I truly mean it when I say that I look up to you. You are a bright light on a dark day, and rainbow amongst the clouds.

It’s one thing to have your best friends by your side; it’s another to have a boss handle their employees with such grace and compassion. I look up to you.

I’ve been through a lot, and since day one you have always been there. I absolutely love being able to joke around with you, yet at the same time we can separate when it’s time to joke around from when it’s time to work. You bring so much life into the place.

I hope you know the genuine appreciation that I have for you. I may not express it on a day to day basis; but each day I am a little more thankful. Trust me when I say; that knowing you is a gift, and working under you is a blessing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
