This one's for you.

To My Coworkers

As this summer draws to a close and I get closer and closer to starting a brand new chapter of my life, I realize that there's many things I'm excited for, and many things I'm going to miss. One of them being the vast amount of coworkers I've had the pleasure of working beside for almost two and a half years. It's crazy to think that I've known and worked beside some of you for that long. I was a wee little sophomore in high school when I started at BDubs, and now look! I'm heading into my freshman year of college. Crazy, right?

I can't even tell you how sad I am to be leaving you guys. We've had so many fun times working together, so many nights and days filled with laughter. A job is only a job, but the people who surround you everyday are the ones who make it much more than that.

There's so many things I could say to and about all of you, but the biggest thing I want to say is thank you. Thank you for welcoming me into this amazing group of people. Thank you for listening to me talk for hours and complain about my problems. Thank you for having the same goals and interests as me. Thank you for making me laugh 'til I cry. Thank you for all the advice I've received from you guys over the past few years. Thank you for teaching me everything I needed to know about the job, and the support and encouragement along the way. Thank you for making me feel like a valued and important part of the team. Thank you for not liking the same people and gossiping with me about them. Thank you for having some patience when I definitely didn't.

Thank you for helping me in shitty situations when I needed it, instead of watching me struggle through it. I've never really been a shy person, but I feel like I've opened up since working with all of you guys and have become a little more outgoing. Thank you for helping me step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Thank you for having the balls to tell me what I really needed to hear, even when I didn't want to. Thank you for being my shoulders to cry on when things were getting tough. Thank you for understanding that I have bad days, just like the rest of us, and having the kindness to help me through them. Thank you for helping me become the person I am today. Thank you for becoming more than just my coworkers. Thank you for becoming my friends and my second family.

I wish I could take all of you with me and have you there in my dorm room, but sadly I don't think you'd all fit. I'll be back one weekend a month, but I'm sure going to miss all of you. Thank you for making this the best place to work, and the best first job I could have ever had.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
