To My Brother Who is Thinking About College
Myself

Wow...I can't believe you are halfway through high school and already thinking about where you want to head off to college. It feels like just yesterday that I was going the hospital two days before my third birthday to go meet my new baby brother that had just arrived and I tried to give you back (But now I'm glad that I couldn't). The day you were born is the day that my life completely changed for the better. It was the day that I was no longer the only child and that I became a big sister.

We have had so many memories, arguements, and much more together. We also have gone through a lot together. Some of my favorite memories include playing together in the basement when we were younger, spending the summer doing activities at Point Sebago in Maine, playing together on the same hockey team and Dad being our coach, watching all your sporting events and the list could go on.

You aren't just my sometimes annoying but amazing little brother but you are also my right hand, partner in crime, biggest competitor (sometimes), teammate, my twin (according to some people) but most importantly, you were my first real best friend and you always will be. You have been by my side since the year 2000 and I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for you.

I am so proud of how far you have come and for everything you have accomplished in life. You are so determined to succeed at everything you do and to achieve every goal you have and that is something I truly love about you because you don't care how hard the goal is to achieve, you always want to work hard to reach your goal and make your dreams become a reality.

I can't believe you are finishing your sophomore year and you already know what you want to do in life and where you want to go to college after high school. I didn't know what i wanted to do and where I wanted to go until the end of my junior year and the beginning of my senior year. I know you will do amazing in whatever you do and I will always be your biggest fan and so beyond proud of you. I love you so much little bro.

xo,

-Your big sister Lex

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
