5 Things I Miss Most About Living 5 Minutes Away From My BFF

It certainly has not been easy living 7 hours away from the one person who I would spend every waking minute with. There are a lot of things I really miss doing with her. They are just everyday things we did so naturally and looking back I definitely took them for granted. Here are five things I miss doing the most...

1. Coffee Runs

If there is ONE thing I miss most about living right around the corner from you, it is our coffee runs. The "dunkins in five be ready" text and you never being ready. The jams we'd have on our way there, and you ordering my coffee for me cause I can never do it right. Running out in the morning just isn't the same without you.

2. Mall Trips

Every weekend since we first became friends in 2008, was spent at the Burlington Mall. There wasn't a weekend we didn't spend at the mall. As we got older and learned to drive, we drove ourselves. Going to the mall with you was good, I knew you would be brutally honest with me. From telling me a shirt was hideous to those jeans look bomb, I knew I could count on you to help me look my best.

3. Sitting and doing nothing

Whether we were on our phones sitting in complete silence, or binge watching SVU, it was nice to know you were there. I miss just coming in your front door, walking up to your room and making it my own. I love how even today we can sit in total silence and still enjoy the time we spend together.

4. Dancing it out

I always have been a crazy energetic person who is horrible at dancing but dances anyways. I miss having you to dance it out with at random times and to be just as obnoxious with me. I miss being able to scream out the song "I Will Always Love You", it's not nearly as fun doing it alone.

5. Pigging out

If there is one thing we are experts at.....it's PIGGING OUT. Man we can really eat!! Over the years we have both fluctuated in weight but that never stops us from stuffing our face with The Outback or Cheesecake Factory or PF Changs. We probably have thousands of text strings just talking about food thats how much we love it. Food is our favorite thing and that will never change. Thanks for being my go to food gal.

Thanks for being my person all these years. I would be lost with out you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
