Growing up, cousins play a big part in your life, especially in families as close as mine. Like many children across the country, I had that one cousin that was closer to me than any other one. Since the day she was born, she has been more of a sister than a cousin to me.
Most of my childhood memories include you, from the countless trips to New Hampshire, Kentucky and all the way to Florida, we've been inseparable through them all. So enough with all that sappy stuff, instead here are 10 reasons why you're the bomb.
1. Best childhood play date.
Fairy houses, swimming, bike rides and can't forget playing "hotel". The list goes on, ages 5-10 were the best.
2. Matching Outfits.
Forever buying the same shirts, shoes, pants, shorts and even bathing suits. Let's face it, we were so cool.
3. Sleepovers.
The countless summer nights, that I practically lived on your floor. I have to say I hope to never blow up an air mattress with a bike pump ever again in my life. To this day I still wonder how we never got sick of each other.
4. Canoes.
Some of my favorite memories include some sort of human powered watercraft. One memory that comes to mind is being tied to the dock in Lake Placid because we were terrible at canoeing.
5. Tubing.
I wouldn't want to fly off of a tube and into the lake with anyone else. I also wouldn't want to get run over by anyone else.
6. Shopping.
I can always count on you for a quick shopping date that usually ends in lunch at Fajita or Friendly's.
7. Dunkin' Dates
Thank you for being an old lady with me and drinking coffee at Dunkin' with all the other old people.
8. Support System.
Knowing that you're a 20 minute drive or a simple text away, helps more than you'll ever understand.
9. Surviving the "kids table".
20 years into life and we still get stuck at the kids table for every family function. Thanks for reserving the seat next to me.
10. First and Forever Best Friend.
From day one to the end of time, you'll be my best friend. Thank you for accompanying me on my journey called life. Here's to a lifetime of love and many more memories.
