Dear Mom,
I know this is super cheesy of me and you're probably going get a little teary while reading this, but you need to know some stuff. That stuff is contained within this letter.
I want to start off by thanking you, because I know that I don't do that enough. Thank you for being the one to hold my hand as I cross the street, and thank you for being the one to remember the little things. You've never stopped being my biggest fan, and you've never stopped being the one that offers the proverbial shoulder-to-cry-on. Even though I hated it as a kid, I appreciate everything you do for me so much more now that I'm an adult. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You have been one of the people to take care of me and make sure that all of my needs were met, regardless of financial problems. You have been the one to gently correct me when dad couldn't, and even though you've probably wanted to pull your hair out with all the stupid decisions I've made, you've supported me and let me learn on my own. You have never been the person to shoot down my dreams with reality; instead, you let my creativity expand by letting me explore and learn on my own, and you allowed me to develop my own thoughts and feelings as I grew up. My heart wouldn't be the same it is today if you hadn't allowed me to do that, and I thank you so much for it.
Now mom, you know me better than other people. Therefore, you know my feelings and my thoughts better than anybody else, so you know that writing this is weird for me and it's probably weird for you to be reading this. But mom, you're a rockstar. Not only that, but you're my rockstar. You've been my literal day one, and having you in my life has been a blessing in disguise. Through the times where I rebelled and through the times where I spent every moment by your side, you've been there. You've never stopped loving me, even though other people have, and you haven't ever turned your back on me, even though I've given you a million reasons as to why you should.
Growing up is hard, but you made it easier. You have given me advice and have been a role-model that has given me the love that I need. You are absolutely amazing, and your selflessness is just one reminder of how a mother should be. You will always be a queen in my eyes, and my biggest wish in life is to be as great of a mother to my future kids as you have been to me.
You're the best, mom. I love you so very much, and I hope that you never doubt that, no matter what situations life throws at our family.
With much love,
Me.
