To Freshman Girls Going Through Recruitment
University of Colorado

A lot of girls have been waiting for rush week their whole life, and others have just recently decided to try it. However, no matter when or where you decided to rush, the important thing is that you choose the right sorority for you. Choose the sorority that makes you feel at home. When you are away from home, you're going to want a place to feel safe and comfortable. You want to feel the same way home makes you feel. Choose a sorority that upholds your values. You should not change yourself to fit into a sorority, instead you should choose the sorority that resembles you, lifts you up and share your values. And finally, choose the sorority that maybe not all of your friends choose. The sorority that fits them may not always fit you as well. Your choice of sorority should not be based on your friends, it should be on the sororities values and the feeling it gives you. If there is one thing you take from this article let it be to take your time on preference night, make sure the sorority you pick is one you can see yourself involved in for the rest of your life, because thats what this is, a lifetime commitment.

Although choosing a sorority is pretty much the whole idea for that week, make sure you do not overwhelm yourself. Take time to make friends and familiarize yourself with your school. You want to relax as much as you can, because right after recruitment comes the beginning of classes. Another thing to remember is that it is OK if you do not get chosen or if you do not find a sorority fit for you. As much as I love greek life, it is not for everyone. Even if you have been waiting for this your whole life, it is ok to not find a fit. But let me tell you this, if you are lucky enough to find a sorority that you fit into, it will be the best experience. You are a part of something bigger than yourself. You are a part of a world that helps the community, and a world that supports diversity and does not take but gives.

Remember during this week to stay calm and be yourself. We are looking for girls who are not afraid to be themselves. We are looking for girls who take a stand for what they believe in, and for girls who want to better not only our sorority but our community. This week will decide what sorority you are in, but it will not decide who you are. So as you go through recruitment do not change who you are. On behalf of all sororities, we cannot wait to meet you in the fall.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
