Hey you,
You strong, beautiful woman, you.
I hope when you woke up and looked in the mirror this morning, you loved what you saw. I hope that you know how beautiful you are, no matter how hard society tries to tell you otherwise.
You do not have to be a size zero to be beautiful and you also don't have to be a size two to be considered healthy. Beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes, ages, and forms.
Some women struggle with weight and force themselves to succumb to harsh realities to try to fit into what society deems beautiful. Women who are naturally thin face the scrutiny of people who believe that they have an eating disorder just because of their size when, in reality, they are perfectly healthy.
Here's what I have to say to all of you.
Hey, you, the girl with the heart of gold who puts everyone before yourself, you're beautiful.
Hey, you, the model who can rock nothing but a string bikini and look flawless, you're beautiful.
Hey, you, the woman who is covered in tattoos that society deems "trashy," you're beautiful.
Hey, you, the woman who isn't a size two, six, or ten, you're beautiful.
Hey, you, the 89-year-old woman who wears nylons and a pant suit every day, you're beautiful.
Hey, you, the woman who had the chance to experience childbirth and who has stretch marks to show off from bringing your beautiful children into this world, you're beautiful.
Hey, you, the girl who looks in the mirror and thinks that you could never be as beautiful as all the other girls, here's a newsflash, you're just as beautiful.
Hey, you, the girl who focuses more on her studies than her face, you're beautiful.
Every single one of you is beautiful. It may be hard when you're comparing yourself to every model and celebrity that you see, but we should put more emphasis on the fact that beauty is everywhere. If no one told you today, you're beautiful inside and out, no matter what society tries to tell you or what you have been told by other people. It would be a shame if you didn't realize what beauty you truly bring to the world, each and every single one of you.
