Snow days are great because it is like getting an extra weekend day thrown into the middle of your work week. Everything is cancelled and closed and you have a free day to do whatever you want. Even though snow days are great, it is also easy to get bored when you can't really leave your house. Here are 8 things you could do the next time you have a snow day!

1. Build a snow man

This one is obvious. When there is snow, build a snowman!

2. Read a book

What better way to spend a snow day than snuggled up under a blanket reading a good book?

3. Bake

Baking is a great way for you and your roommates to do something together! And in the end you get to eat whatever delicious treats you made.

4. Catch up on Netflix

Not having to go to school or work gives you the perfect opportunity to catch up on all of the shows you've been wanting to watch!

5. Color

Who doesn't love coloring? And finishing a picture will definitely make you feel like you've been productive when looking at the finished product.

6. Nap

It is a well-known fact that college students do not get a lot of sleep. Take your day off to catch up on all of the sleep you've been missing out on!

7. Spa Day

Take the day to treat yourself! Put on a facemask, do your nails, and online shop!

8. Make Hot Chocolate

Snow days are cold, so warm yourself up with a cup of hot chocolate!

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
