You are my best friend. You are the person I can turn to when things seem as if they are going downhill. I cannot put into words how much I truly appreciate your advice and words of wisdom. Though there are times that we argue, I still appreciate and take in every work that you say. You’ve helped form me into the young woman that I am today, and I am sure without you that would not have happened.

I love your funny, silly, and sometimes ridiculous jokes. I do believe there is such a thing as “dad jokes”. Sometimes you embarrass me, but I know it’s out of love. You know all the ways to make me annoyed, but in the end we both laugh at the nonsense. You are a joy to be around, and I am so happy that I get to call you my dad. You can make me laugh and cry at the same time. You know me better than anyone else. Honestly, I don’t think anyone could ever compare to you. Thank you.

You answer all of my questions and are always willing to help me whenever I need it. Truthfully, this part right here is probably what makes me a “daddy’s girl” the most. Whenever I’m feeling inquisitive and wanting to know something, you let me know. If I’m screaming at the top of my lungs at 3am because I see a bug, you come to the rescue. I don’t think there’s many who would do what you do for me. I feel so blessed and honored to be able to call you my father.

From the sincerity of my heart, thank you for all you do. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for guiding me to where I am today. Thank you for always being willing to help me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you always showing me you care. Thank you for knowing me better than anyone else. Thank you for constantly being able to be there for me. Thank you for everything. Truly, THANK YOU.

I love you so much,

Your not so little girl anymore

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
