To All The So Called Christians

Pick up your cross, and carry it!

If you were to die in this very moment, right now reading this, where would you go? If you were given a single moment at that point to reflect back on your life, what would you think about? Would you have regrets?

I would.

I am a firm believer in the Almighty God. I believe that He sent his one and only Son to die for every single one of us. Not just a few, not just me, but you as well, regardless of the sins that you have committed in your life. You see, Jesus died for EVERY SINGLE SIN. His wounds represented every single time that we repeatedly hurt Him by turning our backs on Him. Why would we do this to the one that died for us?

We live in such a secular world. Everything is slowly pushing God out. He is no longer praised in homes. He is no longer served as the Almighty. We have become addicted to society. We have filled our lives with so much hate for one another. Everybody that sins differently from us is broken down and beaten. We spew hateful words towards them. We shun them. We inflict pain and discrimination. Why? Because we no longer have God in our hearts.

It's easy to say that you are a believer. It's easy to claim the title of "Christian," but Heaven help you if you actually act like it. What does it truly mean to be Christian? If you were to look the definition of the word up, you would find that it is defined as "Relating to Jesus Christ, or the teachings of Jesus Christ." Now, I don't know about you, but I believe that Jesus didn't go around acting all high and mighty over anyone. And He was actually the only one without any sin.

As Christians, it is our duty to hold our brothers and sisters in Christ accountable. That doesn't mean to beat them down when they sin. When we die, we're not going to have to account to the sins of others, but our own. So, stop it.

Stop treating others as though they are filthy. Stop judging others for the wrongs that they do. Try loving them instead. We must put down the "Christian" title, and pick up the love of Jesus Christ. Religion is man made, but love is within us. Jesus proved that by CHOOSING to die for us. He very much could have told God no, but He didn't. It's okay to not know everything. It's okay to not have answers. There are things in this world that I believe we aren't meant to understand, and that's okay.

Stop claiming to be "Christian," and actually live it. Pick up your cross, and carry it. And do not lay it down unless you are laying it at the feet of God. He is the only one that can judge us, and He should! We should be ashamed of ourselves and the ways we are acting. He is the one that is always there. He is the one that has never left us when our so called friends have. God is the Almighty. God is our Heavenly Father. God is our Everything. Put your eyes upon the Lord:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin." --Hebrews 12:1-4

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
