Dear Single Ladies,
This is an ode to you. This one goes out to all the girls' nights out, to all the foiled "Netflix and chill" schemes, to all the Valentine’s Days spent alone, to all the times you claimed that you are "forever alone," and to all the possible significant others that fell through the cracks. Single ladies, you are strong and independent. You don't need anyone else to complete you. You are kind and important! You are a free bird. But sometimes, it feels as though something is missing.
You think "It sure would be nice to have someone here to share my life with me" or "I wish I had someone to hold my hand." You want someone you can laugh with and learn from, someone who is there for you in your times of need. For the late night study sessions, for the good times and the not-so-good times. Someone to go to Taco Bell with at two in the morning.
My dear single ladies, your time will come. One day, someone will come into your life and turn it upside down. You're heart will swell and your stomach will fill with butterflies. It will feel as though everything is finally coming together. You will have someone to cheer you on and pick you up. You will go on adventures and solve challenges. Your significant other with be your constant in this ever-changing world.
The question is, what to do until then? You are going to live life to its fullest! Do not waste your time waiting for the right person to come along. You have to get out there and be the right person for yourself! Go out with friends and meet new people. Go on your own adventures. You have to learn to love yourself and be content with what you have.
This stint in “singlehood” is vital for bettering yourself; utilize this time. It can be difficult to stay optimistic, but you can do it, and before you know it, you will have someone to call yours. And remember, you always have Ben and Jerry to get you through the tough times.
Sincerely,
A Fellow Single Lady.
