Dear fellow Vegetarians/Vegans,
I'm not addressing this concern to every single person who is meat-free; some people are chill with carnivores, while other meat-free folks shame carnivores. I'm writing this to the vegetarians/vegans who puff out their chests in pride for not eating meat, while shaming those who do.
Listen, if you're vegan/vegetarian, cool. Fine. Why in the world is that a valid excuse for you to tell carnivores that they will live a short life, they're disgusting, they have no morals, the whole world hates them, and all other negative things? The way you fight is just like an atheist that tells Christians, Muslims, Jews, and other people who believe in a God that they are ignorant for believing in a higher being, while you, the atheist, are the more intelligent one just because you don't believe in God/a god. If you are treat the meat-free diet as a religion, then that's totally fine. However, I'm begging you, please don't shove your vegetarian/vegan diet in the face of carnivores. I don't get why you should be so grossed out by someone eating a burger. Would you like it if someone came up to you and started to humiliate you for what you are consuming, especially out in public? It's rude and doesn't make the other person feel better, and if others are watching, then that's bound for a bad reputation in your cards.
Moreover, I've seen herbivores on YouTube that claim going meat-free will cure the body of diseases, such as, diabetes, cancer, high-blood pressure, high blood sugar, clear skin, weight loss, and a whole slew of medical issues, but with zero links to display proof. Grrrr! How is that not agitating?! I'm pretty sure other viewers want proof of these wonderful claims, but do you really think they would believe sans linked websites? Of course not! Just because you don't eat meat, doesn't mean you have a bigger brain. I mean, let's be real here: humans have been consuming animals for quite a while. They presumably ate plants as well, but gradually began to incorporate meat, probably for well-nourishment for day-to-day activities. If you ever shame a carnivore today, in a way, you're also kind of shaming our ancestors. Let's not do that now, shall we?
Some of us meat-eaters are aware of your concern for animal-cruelty, but it's not like cows are killed in random fashions (i.e., run through with a sharp sword in the middle of a field). I'm quite sure farmers are careful with the way animals are butchered, plus countries all over the world do keep count of how many animals are being used for food. The world isn't as stupid as you would think just because of meat. You should seriously consider how you think of carnivores because the way we're shamed by extreme vegetarians/vegans is indescribably bothersome. In fact, some of your fellow members of the Vegetarian and Vegan club think these manners annoying as well. It makes sense, too, just as how Muslims are greatly irritated at how ISIS displays Islam to the world (which is not even close to the real teachings.)
I have zero issues with those who choose to live a meat-free lifestyle. If they find it suitable for their own selves and are content, whoop-dee-do! But if I begin to see shaming and disgust towards meat-eaters, oh you better be ready for a piece of my mind! This entire immaturity has to stop, as the way of racism, sexism, and all other forms of discrimination. We don't need another reason make people feel bad just because of what makes them who they are. If we're on a mission to end racism, sexism, and all other forms of discrimination, then it has to apply to vegans/non vegans. This is getting out of hand and utterly unbearable. We carnivores downright dislike the shame we receive, either out in public or on the Internet. A diet shouldn't make a person feel superior, just as skin color shouldn't make someone feel like they're above the rest of the crowd. Got it?
Deal or no deal? I go for deal.
Thanks for reading!
