Titanfall released almost three years ago. The game showed up at E3 in 2014 during the Xbox conference. When I saw the first Titanfall trailer I instantly fell in love with the game. Standing in a troop transport standing by to warp into battle sets the scene. The fellow soldiers you stand by are known as pilots. Their lower backs hold a device that will allow them to traverse the battlefield like gods. They will then call in a mighty beast known as a Titan. It will fall from the sky like a meteor, but this one is constructed of steel and gun powder. The pilot will enter its titan and take over the battlefield in one full sweep allowing for militia forces to push forward.

This was the gameplay demo for Titanfall that made me fall in love with it. Titanfall is developed by Respawn Entertainment who was founded by Vince Zampella. This is the second studio Zampella has created. His first was Infinity Ward where he developed the first generation of Call of Duty. After leaving Infinity Ward, he created Respawn and started the development of Titanfall. This may surprise some people that the creator of Call of Duty is know developing games that compete with it. The sad thing is, Titanfall will almost never get the recognition it deserves for how good of a franchise it is.

Titanfall has revolutionized the first person shooter industry. The game mechanics and revolutionary ideas behind Titanfall make it what it is. Lets first start off with the most obvious mechanic, the titans. In Call of Duty you have kill streaks when you hit a certain kill count without dying but Titanfall removes kill streaks and replaces them with Titans. Everyone is able to get a titan no matte what your skill level is. If you get a kill or capture a certain point, your titan meet will fill up. Once you fill your entire meter, you are able to call in your two ton behemoth.

There where three types of titans to choose from and you could customize their entire load out. Pilots also had the same customization options as titans. The biggest thing about Titanfall is the mechanics that lye in it. Parkour is the main concept of the game. The ability to double jump and wall run made the game standout among others. The wall running was so smooth and made the game fast paced as hell. Titanfall is super fast paced making decide what to do on the spot or you will face the destruction of your titan.

The balance of titans and pilots is a fine line. A lone titan will not be able take on three pilots due to anti-titan weapons and an awesome rodeo system. This rodeo system allowed pilots to jump on the backs of these large mechs to shoot at their insides ultimately destroying the titan. This system was later upgraded and altered in the second game which made it much better.

Titanfall 2 is the best FPS shooter to release in 2016. The game fixed all of its flaws from the first game which sequels rarely do. The introduction of more weapons, new abilities and new titan types makes the game ultimately better than the first. Titanfall does an amazing job at putting you in chaos of futuristic mech battles that could go in any ones favor. The games revolutionary game mechanics make it a benchmark for FPS games.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
