Tips on Traveling in your 20’s: a College Kid’s Perspective

From a young age I have always loved traveling. As I have gotten older my urge to travel is steadily increasing. Traveling can be expensive, the end. People have always told me that you are only young once, so you might as well travel while you are young. As my senior year of college is coming up, I have started preparing to travel. I do not know what my plans are yet, what college kid does? But I do know that it is going to involve traveling.

You have your whole life to work- We often hear the phrase “You have your whole life to work”. Well, this is very true. Unless something spectacular happens, you will be working for the rest of your life. So get out and do something that you are passionate about while you are young and able.

Start saving now- Put a little money back every time that you get paid; whether that is $5, $10, $20, or $100. Whatever that may be, start saving now. Open up a savings account and start depositing money into it. Make a promise to never take any of it out until you start traveling.

It will help you see the world differently- I have realized that people have a different way of seeing beauty. Traveling will help you to see the world in a completely different manner. It may be a sunset in California or seeing the stars in a random town in Rome, but I promise if you get out and travel you will have a completely different view.

It will expand your knowledge of the world- If you are stuck in one place all of the time you will never know what the world has to offer. There are so many different cultures in the world. Travel and strive to learn a little about each culture. We can all agree that sitting in a classroom and learning about history can be boring. Traveling will help to make history come alive.

It will help you to step out of your comfort zone “You are confined by the walls that you build yourself.” Some people have never had a chance to fully step out of their comfort zones. Traveling while you are young will help you step out of your comfort zone and reach your full potential. It will also open your eyes to a whole new world.

The world has so much to offer."This is the time for small paychecks and big memories." Seriously though, you have THE REST OF YOUR TO WORK. So get out there and see the world has to offer!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
