1. Make your space.
Whether you clear off a table, bed, or a spot in the floor, claim your area. Make it known it's yours, and spread your things out so you can see all of your work at once.
2. Tune out.
Personally, music is distracting for me. Ambient noise, or background noise can help you focus. If you like Harry Potter, here are some background noises from the movies that can help you get in that right mindset to get work done. If all fails, get noise canceling headphones and listen to white noise.
3. Surround yourself with the right people.
Obviously if the people around you are blasting the backstreet boys and dancing, they aren't the best people to be studying with. If you find people who are just as keen on getting things done as you are, they'll help motivate you to get things done, and probably help you get it done.
4. Fuel your body.
Studying is hard, and everyone knows how exhausting it can be at the end of a long day. In order to prevent the study binge crash, avoid caffeine in large amounts, and opt for healthy options. Juice, milk, or even tea with lemon can be good company with a particularly hard assignment. Ramen late at night when you're hating life and it's cold outside may be tempting, but don't make it a regular thing.
5. Manage time wisely.
Organize your daily schedule in what needs to be done today, and what to get to ahead of time if you get the chance. Cross off things as you get them done, it helps show that you are indeed actually making progress, and not just endlessly working for nothing.
6. Give yourself a break.
On the top of every hour of studying, get up and walk around, listen to an upbeat song, and wash your face. You need to recover from work outs, and you need to recover from studying too.
