Ah, spring break. No school, less responsibilities, and so much more time for yourself. Here's how you can try to make the most of it, feeling even better when you go back to school.
1. Get some sleep.
Of course, being on a break from school, the little kid in all of us yells “I can stay up as late as I want!!” However, in order to get a really relaxing spring break (and not throw your sleep schedule off when you go back to school), you need to get your rest. Preferably at night, when normal people do- however boring that may sound.
2. Spend time outside!
Hopefully wherever you’ll be for spring break will actually be spring-like. If it is, try to get outside and enjoy the sun and air. Maybe take your pets on a walk, or just go to a park. If you go online, you can find a lot of parks and nature areas around wherever you live- take some of your time off to go out and enjoy it.
3.Try to stay healthy.
Don’t try to full-on go on a diet, but maybe say no to the sugar a few times during your week off. Your body, and your summer-time self, just may thank you.
4. Relax.
That’s right- let go of your stress about papers, exams, studying, classes, work, drama- right now, focus on couch sitting, weather enjoying, friend seeing, and whatever else you want to do. It’s called a school break for a reason, so give yourself a break!
5. Tidy up.
Okay, so being cooped up in your house all winter because of the cold may have created a little mess or made things a little unorganized. Take a few minutes away from your Netflix marathon to straighten up your room, tackle the black hole in your closet, or make your bed. You’ll feel really good about it when it’s done, and you’ll be glad it’s not as messy when school starts back up.
6. Be social!
Don’t keep yourself in your room with the door closed, or at home alone. Go see your friends and family- it’ll be so much better now that you don’t have to cut time short because of homework or studying. Set up a lunch date with your parents, or go hang out with a friend.
7.Catch up on a hobby.
A lot of us let go of things we enjoy doing, such as reading for fun (yes, that still exists!), creating art, playing instruments, jogging, etc., so that we have plenty of time for school and out-of-school work. During your break, take some time to get back into the things you enjoy doing, your hobbies. Since school is out, you should have plenty of time to enjoy yourself.
Hopefully your break is as relaxing as can be. Pick up some of these tips, and you’ll be feeling relaxed and refreshed when school starts back up!
