With Christmas Break coming in less than two weeks, every college student is preparing to finish up finals, essays, and classes. We all are excited about coming home to see our friends and family. Holidays are always a stressful, but can be joyful as well. However, having the comfort of being home and to be with people who love you is the biggest blessing. Here are some tips on how to enjoy the Christmas break.
1. Embrace your Christmas spirit.
Living in a town like mine can be boring. However, coming home from finals to our friends, family, and pets is something everyone looks forward too. Decorating Christmas trees, making gingerbread houses, and even singing Christmas carols can help you become into the Christmas spirit.
2. Coming home to your pets.
This is something I feel that everyone looks the most forward too. As we are all wrapped up in our stress and anxiety, seeing our pet can make us instantly forget it.
3. Seeing your old high school friends.
Chances are you haven't seen some of your old friends since graduation. Seeing all of your good friends that you grew up, with will help you have a better time at home. Nights will consist of fast food, Netflix, and catching up on all the gossip.
4. Netflix, Netflix, and more Netflix.
Being able to watch episodes from back to back is the best way to spend a day. Netflix will always be there, to help the holidays to not be as boring.
5. Sleep
Sleeping is the one thing that I look the most forward too. Being able to take naps on naps, is an enjoyable time for me.
6. You finally get to spend some face to face time with your siblings.
Although my sisters and I usually end up fighting about clothes, I still love to spend time with them. My sisters make spending time at home, seem a little more enjoyable. I am sure by the end of the break, they'll be ready to get rid of me.
7. Being able to binge-eat without feeling guilty.
During the break your family usually will have dinners. Receiving all of this food gives anyone a good excuse to binge-eat, even if you put on a few pounds.
8. You get the chance to be lazy.
After a stressful semester of exams, essays, and homework surely we all deserve to relax. Take advantage of this opportunity because the break flies by quick.
8. Getting to see your relatives.
We all have that one relative that we absolutely love. When we get to see our favorite relative it helps us get through those stressful family dinners. Usually this family member can help with those awful questions that you constantly get asked.
- " Why don't you have a boyfriend?"
-" What is your major?"
- "What do you want to do with your life?"
9. Getting sent back to college with leftovers.
Leftovers is the best part about Christmas break. Now you'll be able to spend your money on stuff instead of food.
10. You get that perfect "fix" with your family.
You love them, but you finally lose that feeling of your diminished homesickness. Spending four weeks with your family was fun, but you're ready to get back to college.
