Students in high school are no strangers to waking up early and starting class at eight in the morning, but what happens once they get to college? They hit the snooze button and just "can't even" until noon. Is it the staying up late? The eating unhealthy? Is it the lack of nagging parents? There are plenty of reasons the snooze button is so easy to hit in the mornings, but here’s a few tips to help you become a morning person in college.

1. Give yourself some consistency

Creating consistency in your life will open up the door for you to cultivate habits. This means going to bed around the same time each night and waking up at the same time each morning. Once this becomes something you do often enough, your body will easily adjust to going to bed and waking up earlier on a daily basis.

2. Have a routine

Not only will waking up and falling asleep at the same times each day help you, but having a morning and night routine helps even more. This will give you consistency and train your body to either be tired or awake. Both will relax you and get you to wake up early.

3. Skip the snooze button

Instead of hitting snooze five times in the morning, wake up on time the first time. This is common knowledge, try to put it into practice.

4. Eat breakfast

Eating breakfast will help you get your day off to a good start and give you more incentive to wake up.

This is the perfect time to try something new and delicious if food is what motivates you.

5. Cut out the late night snacking

Rather than indulging in the late night stack that’s full of sugar and will ultimately keep you up later than necessary, eating a filling dinner a few hours before your bed time. A good rule of thumb to live by, try not to eat after 8 p.m.

6. Get active

Working out in the morning is a great way to wake yourself up and literally get moving each morning. You'll look and feel better, so it's a win-win.

7.Turn off the screens

Instead of staring at your phone, tablet or computer screen before going to bed each night, put all of them away an hour before your bed time. This will help your mind to relax and get you mentally ready for sleep.

8. Plan ahead

Planning a head will help you have a more efficient morning and cause less of a headache once you are out of bed and getting ready. By having a plan, you have something to look forward to and that can help you get up earlier.

9. Give yourself a reason

People who often wake up early have a reason for doing so. Add something to your morning that makes you excited to get out bed each day. Once you find that thing, start trying to find more reasons to be up early.

10. Treat yourself

Once you've created a habit of waking yourself up early each day, treat yourself to a day sleeping in or getting those news shoes you've been eyeing. Rewarding yourself for achieving goals will make you want to accomplish more in the future!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
