Why is it hard to be a half-decent human nowadays? Morals and values were once a base of humanity, but it seems it's only half-ass sense of morals with a touch of values. Simple as being nice, kind and loving toward everyone.
Bringing people up isn't an act anymore ("up" meaning their spirits or self-confidence). When did complimenting someone become so hard? A simple, "you look great today," or a simple, "hi." That is like pulling teeth out. Painful — why? Jealousy and envy.
Bringing people down is much easier. No need to say a compliment to only leave a hateful comment on social media or a glare that would make the devil twitch. Why? Jealousy and envy. We want what others have and we're too lazy to actually try to get what we want so we instead look down on others simply because we do not have whatever they have.
Smiling and making eye contact with people is a rare occurrence. Being nice is rare setting to see. This world is full of people that can change everything if we actually try.
We can bring a sense of positivity and morals to the surface again. We can bring people up more than drag them through the dirt. Especially on social media and as quoted by Jaclyn Hill, "People forget that I have blood in my veins. I cry when I'm sad and I bleed when I get cut. I'm a real person".
We need happiness in all aspects of life and in ourselves. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will change-- but we have to start somewhere. This day and age with all these changes happening around us — this is the time to empower others.
Below is a video by Jaclyn Hill, makeup artist and beauty YouTuber, addressing the negativity on social media and more. It's impacted many and this heart quenching video went viral affecting many. It's pure truth and it's spoken by someone with a beautiful soul.
Let's stand against hatred, bullying and being the worst kind of human to others.
