Prioritizing the One Thing That Matters

Time to Move
Project Managers

Have you ever found yourself so unorganized and lost? I know that I have, in fact I am currently writing this article after the deadline. I tend to try to get everything done in order that I may be able to go out and enjoy my free time with my friends, the problem being that this sometimes becomes my main concern and I forget about everything I had to get done in the first place. I have a "Live in the moment" type of mentality, which serves me well in terms of less stress but also leaves me vulnerable for the things that I need to plan for. For example, I know I have an assignment due by Wednesday and that I need to communicate my class schedule with my boss at work but I rather relax and do nothing of importance with my friends then to accomplish these goals. Can I tell you that I am also guilty of doing this with reading my Bible? I love God and owe him my all but I allow myself to put my relationship with God on the back burner in order to satisfy my desire for fun. Do not take that the wrong way, it's just the things that we need to do will not always seem appetizing. The Lord says "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!" The aforementioned verse is found in the book of Psalms chapter 34 verse 4. With me having the knowledge that the Lord is good then why do I allow myself to put him on the back burner to the things I can honestly do with my friends after? I have allowed my schedule to become disorganized and disorientated. The effects of not aligning my time up correctly with God spills over into every aspect of my life as I search for earthly joy and allow the Joy of the Lord o lay in waiting. As I talked about in a previous article God has great plans for each and everyone of us all we need to do is seek him and implore him for the answers of what it is that he wants us to do. I cannot store my treasures up here on earth knowing that when I die that I will not be able to take anything with me, nay instead I must serve the Lord trusting that when I die that he will look to me and say "Well done my good and faithful servant!" With that being said I feel it is necessary to state that my salvation is not a works-based salvation but a faith-based salvation. A faith-based salvation means that I cannot earn my way into Heaven and the importance in recognition here is that we cannot earn Heaven, it's not a prize. If we could just be good people and get into Heaven then Jesus would never have came down from his throne in Heaven and suffered here on earth, there would be no point. Jesus died for us because no matter how good we try to be, we can never be good enough to deserve to dwell with the Almighty. The reason we should align our lives with God's will is the same reason we try to make other people happy, because we love them! We have no problem giving up our money, time, food, grades, or anything else for a relationship with the person we hope to or that we are currently dating yet we refuse to do it for the one who not only created us but literally died for us! Why, why do we not show our love for God the same way? Is it because we cannot physically see him yet or because we deem it unnecessary at the time saying things like "I can do it later" or "he will understand." Tomorrow is not promised and every second is a gift. If we could recognize this as truth in our lives and receive this as a call to action I bet you would be surprise by the impact you can have in others lives. It's time we make God our priority and start moving!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
