You need not apply if you have tattoos or piercings. And don’t even think about it if you do not have two to four years experience in the job that you are applying for. I’ve seen people be told this and have had people tell me this when discussing what career I wanted to do. It bothers me that people are still being held to this. It doesn’t make sense in this day and age with the generations that are coming into the workforce.

As a millennial I find all of this complete garbage. The stigmatism that comes along with having tattoos or piercing needs to be gone. To some people this is a form of art and expression for them. And you shouldn’t judge the a care you are receiving or the job you are paying someone to do based on if they have visible piercings and tattoos. That’s not the way this works. We should be promoting self expression and growth as a society.

Of course, there should be regulations if they are working around chemicals or in a healthcare facility and there is a chance of it causing anyone harm or spreading illnesses. We don’t need to assume someone is not qualified for their job due to something on their skin. It just doesn’t make sense.

Also, I do not understand why no one is willing to give new grads a starting position. No one is just going to have experience starting out, and people need to make money to live so an internship makes things really hard. No one is willing to help someone obtain work experience because they want someone to come in already with experience.

All of these things, they seem outdated. There’s no use in having policies such as no visible tattoos or piercings other than the ears. You want your business to thrive and allowing people to express themselves and feel comfortable will help the business do just that. They will recommend your business to other people and praise you on not being worried about coming to work.

Give new graduates a chance. Let them come and learn in your business. You can even help mold them into the type of employee you want and will help your business succeed. They will tell their friends to come check you out and if everything works and you promote growth you can have a lifelong employee. Be more open and promote self expression as long as it isn’t hurting anyone or anything

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
