Dear weekenders,
Please stop! Living for the weekends is absolutely no way to live. You're missing out on what is happening right in front of you. From Monday to Thursday you basically just go through the motions until you hear what is going on that night, and then you wake up. When you look back on the week, you vaguely remember what you did on Monday or Tuesday, but you don't seemed to be phased.
Don't you want to live in the moment? Don't you want to experience what is going on around you and who is around you? Life is passing you by each day when you're barely present or constantly thinking about the weekend. It's time to start living in the now. As cliche as it sounds, it's worth trying. Just think about all the stuff you're missing out on.
Getting lunch with your friends is beyond great. You get to disconnect yourself from the bubble that you're living in and just have normal conversations. You guys get to laugh together, cry together, and act like complete idiots when nobody is looking. You're creating memories every single day that you're just neglecting because all you want to do is party on a Friday and Saturday night.
So stop! Live for the moment, embrace everything that is around you and live life the way you will feel most fulfilled. You only get one life, so why waste it? Being intoxicated or under the influence is not the only way to make memories. Yes- those may be a little more prominent or exciting, but they're not the only ones.
Your best friend may have had milk come out of her nose, or she may have ripped her jeans while walking to class. Maybe your roommate accidentally tripped while walking into your room, or she fell out of her bed. But you never noticed any of this because you were too busy on your phone trying to find out what to do that night or how you were getting to the liquor store.
It's time you start focusing on today. Focus on what and who's around you and start making the best of each day. It's time to start making memories out of the littlest things in life. Each day is just passing by, and they will continue too unless you make something out of it. So why wait any longer? Don't let another day pass you by because you're stuck in the land of alcohol.
Take every moment and start treating it like it's your last. Make the most of everything and anything before it's too late and you no longer have as much time to yourself. You only have one life, so make the best out of it.
Sincerely,
Those who live in the now.
