With September being the movie theatre's dry season, Tim Burton's new film rains in a flood to kick off the fall transition. Jackson (Barron), and Ella Purnell (Emma), and premiered the September 30th weekend.
This film is the adaption of the novel "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" written by author Ransom Riggs, who is delighted to finally see his story displayed on the big screen.
Burton portrays these distinct characters by creating a dark/creepy yet vibrant/unique look in his new Fantasy/Adventure film. With the right eye, instruction, and special effects, Tim opens up a world for your mind to take part in and explore. The cast of Miss Peregrine's traveled from Florida, USA all the way to Port Holme, UK to present the beautiful scenery of the peculiar world. Here poses the author of "Miss Peregrine's" in front of the peculiar children home.
Tim Burton, known for creating odd fantasy films, opens up a fantasy world full of peril, secrecy, love, and most of all, children with peculiar powers. Although, some development of the characters and the story is not seen which can leave discontentment. The conflict resolution in the movie felt rushed, all over the place, and a bit kiddish. Overall the film was intriguing, and even a bit humorous, especially when Samuel L. Jackson appears in the film.
The story follows a teenager, by the name of Jacob, who grew up knowing these children through stories told by his grandfather. In an effort to redeem his grandfather after a mysterious death, Jacob (Asa) travels to the location where the stories were set. Soon enough, the stories show themselves to be true as he comes across the children and their home.
The children and their caretaker, Miss Peregrine (Eva Green), have been hiding for years in what is known as a "loop" which allows them to manipulate time, allowing them to never age. As the days go by Jacob begins to take to the unusual world full of bizarre characters, especially a young lady named Emma (Ella Purnell.) As Jacob discovers more about the children's powers, he also discovers and flourishes his own.
Jacob and the children go through many terrors in an effort to save their lives from evil monsters. The problem is that none of the children can see these hideous creatures but the newcomer, Jacob, who isn't quite sure where he belongs yet.
