The Three Types Of Relationships

If someone wants to walk out of your life, let them.

The Three Types Of Relationships

It's hard when relationships burn out and you never seem to be able to let go. But if someone wants to walk out of your life... Let them go. Just let them. It will be okay. There are three types of people in this world and some of them are only meant to be temporary. You just have to decide which people are meant to stay in your life for good and the people who are only meant to stay a season.

As it has been explained to me throughout my life, think of it as a tree with three parts. First you have the leaves at the top, then the branches, and finally the roots. Everyone who comes into your life will fall into one of these three categories.

The Leaves.

These people will come and go. These individuals are only meant to be in your life for a short period of time, or a season. There are hundreds of these people, they are your class mates or co workers. They bring beauty to your life and they make your tree full and beautiful, but the moment the weather gets rough, whether it's a storm or they can't handle the cold, they wither away. That is okay though, they were only sent into your life temporarily so they could teach you a lesson, whatever that may be.

The Branches.

Then there are people who are like the branches of the tree, they can be childhood friends or someone you're dating. These are the people who have stayed in your life for more than just a season. They don't change with the seasons, but some times when you reach up and grab a branch that looks strong and sturdy, the branch just breaks. But on the other hand, there are some branches that will never break no matter what storm they endure with you.

The Roots.

No matter what happens these are the type of people who won't leave, they keep you grounded and strong. If you have a couple of these people, you don't need the other two. These are the people who stand by your side and support you no matter what. Not to say they won't make mistakes, because no one is perfect. But these relationships will last a lifetime.

If you tell a person they are doing "this" and it hurts you, they are more likely to change. This shows they care, so keep those people around. They are trying, and it could be a leaf trying to become a sturdy branch, or a branch trying to become as strong as a root.

People are put in your life for a reason, and that lesson is always hard to decipher. You can't try to make a person who was only supposed to stay in your life for a "season" into that forever person, because that isn't how it works. That was not Mother Nature's intentions. So if someone wants to walk our of your life let them and if someone tries to stay in your life, let them. Mother Nature has a plan.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
