Every now and then, our skin could use a little TLC. If I could get my hands on all the best skin care products in the world, I’d be a happy girl. Unfortunately, sometimes keeping with a skincare routine can be costly. Have no fear! Some beauty products use simple ingredients that can be found right in your own kitchen. These items may even be better for your skin since there are no added chemicals — just natural, natural, natural. Whenever I feel a breakout coming on or like my pores are the size of their own country, I mix up a few at-home face masks and let the magical powers of honey, eggs and milk turn my kitchen into a spa!

Check out three simple face masks below that you can recreate easily!

If you’ve got OILY SKIN: egg white and honey facemask

I know it sounds gross. Oily skin. But sometimes it’s an issue that can affect your makeup routine and confidence throughout the day. Who wants a layer of oil sitting on their nose and forehead? Not me.

Separate the yolk and take the egg white and add about a teaspoon of honey into a bowl. Mix, mix, mix. It may not seem like the best-smelling or best-feeling face mask, but the egg whites will help those growing pores dry out and tighten so no more dirt can sneak its way in. The honey will be the back up, moisturizing your skin so it doesn’t end up too dry. It also softens the skin, so once you rinse it off after 10 minutes, you wont be able to stop touching your face. If you want a little extra boost, squeeze some lemon into the mix. There you go — kissable skin!

If you’ve got DRY SKIN: milk and banana facemask

This one might sound a bit more appealing to apply to your face. Mash up one banana until it’s a mushy texture. Add some milk to it until it turns into a creamy paste (not too liquidity, though!). The milk and banana together are a powerful duo that will moisturize and help replenish anything that may be causing your skin to dry out. You can add some honey to this mask too (it never hurts to use honey) and boom! You’ve got a powerhouse of ingredients to help you say bye to dry skin!

If you’re BREAKING OUT: apple cider vinegar and baking soda, honey and cinnamon face masks

Zits are never fun, and they love to surprise you by appearing whenever they darn well please! Don’t stress anymore though, because we’ve got four ingredients that will be your hitmen for these suckers. You can use just apple cider vinegar on its own by combining it with water (use twice as much water as vinegar) and applying directly to the zit, or you can throw in some baking soda and apply all over. The duo will help dry out and erase blemishes. Honey and cinnamon together will do the job just as well, and if you’re feeling fancy, add some lemon in to shake things up. My personal favorite secret weapon for any blemish face mask is a couple drops of tea tree oil--- it will dry out zits like no other. Don’t forget the honey to moisturize for that one!

Happy skin healing!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
