3 Reasons Why I Am Excited To Shop At Amazon Go

I am excited and ready to participate / shop at the new Amazon Go stores.

Amazon just opened a grocery store without a checkout line, an article published, December 5, 2016 by Elizabeth Weise in "USA Today." This article outlines details as to how the process works.

"The service is called Amazon Go. It uses machine learning, sensors, and artificial intelligence to track items customers pick up. These are then added to the virtual cart on their app. If they pick up an item they later decide they don't want, putting it back on the shelf removes it from their cart."

Currently, the store is only open to employees in one location in downtown Seattle. However, the Amazon advised stores will open to the public in 2017. And, Amazon began testing 'just walk out technology' in 2012.

The simple checkout process occurs “when the customer leaves, the app adds up everything the customer has taken and charges their Amazon account.”

Meal kits are a great concept for college students or busy working adults. Based on the description provided: "everything you need to cook a quick, high-quality dinner" kits have become popular but the economics of delivering them has meant they're difficult to make economically viable. Stores such as Amazon Go may provide a sweet spot for them.”

This virtual checkout process will prevent aggravation by reducing the amount of time required to shop. Again, I am excited and look forward to this opportunity.

So why am I excited?

1. This will improve my ability to get what I need and get out if the store. This is an example of true respect of the consumer’s time. No more standing in line.

2. The packages for purchase contain compete kits. So, I will not have to search for ingredients or return to the store because I forgot an item that was on my mental list. It is all included in the kit!

3. Convenience is key. The process seems user friendly and should allow employees the freedom to provide true customer service by answering questions or helping.

I applaud the concept and cannot wait to see it in action.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
